Most of what we offer in Media Mix is search engine optimization help. Now, this term may seem advanced, however it involves common sense issues that every business owner and consumer should understand. When we say that we provide SEO work, that includes more than just creating a paid search campaign, and actually the list can be quite long if you were to accomplish this task. Everything from listing your business on multiple directories, expanding landing pages on your site that drive the most traffic, using targeting keywords in your paid search, and much more. In Media Mix, this usually comes down to how well your site is organized, what paid search you are running, and getting the business name noticed through content and PR.
We feel that having a website with some landing pages and pictures doesn’t do much at all. It’s about how dynamic that site is. Every topic on a page should be included in tags for that page. Your business name should come up in multiple searches using different keywords relative to your industry. Blogs are the strongest part in content enhancement, and can make a world of difference on your site.
One of my responsibilities working on the social and digital side is to collect the monthly website analytics for the client’s signed on for SEO work. We primarily use Google and their Analytics platform for this. Google Analytics is a easy to use and very informative program that lets you track month-by-month how many new visitors your site has, what traffic sources those visits came from, how long they spent on a page, and more. Each month, I collect certain pieces from Google Analytics and compile them into Word docs to send to the clients. Then, when the account managers sit down with the clients for monthly meetings, they can look at which pages need more content writing, which were getting the most traffic, and if they were running any specials the previous month that jumped up the numbers.
Below is just a front page example of the monthly Analytics reports I produce.
