Best Election Day Commercial? Not from a Candidate or Super PAC!

Video

For over a year now, we have seen and heard all the commercials, radio ads , web ads and banners. History was made once again Tuesday, a second term for the country’s first African American president. But who’s commercial reigned supreme on Election Day 2012? It wasn’t the President’s. And it wasn’t Mr. Romney’s. It was Nestle with their election advertisement from KIT KAT.

This commercial stood out to me for the simple reason that it was objective and original!  For one, making the bars act out a military drill line was clever, and paired well with the military marching band KIT KAT anthem. This ad didn’t attempt to stir up any trouble, it did almost the complete opposite. It reminded viewers that sides or parties don’t matter. We all are united under the same flag. That is what matters most. If only our presidential candidates could embrace this simplicity more.
